What consumer reports cover

Consumer reports give your organisation a complete view of how stock is being used β€” which departments are consuming most, which projects are on or over budget, where waste is occurring, and how consumption trends are changing over time.

Accessing consumer reports

Go to Reports β†’ Consumer report. Select the report type and date range.

Available report types

Overall consumption summary β€” total items consumed and total cost for the selected period. Useful for a quick monthly overview.

By department β€” consumption and cost broken down by department. Shows which departments are the heaviest users and how each compares to budget.

By project β€” consumption and cost for each project. Essential for donor reporting and project budget management.

By product β€” shows which items are consumed most frequently and at highest cost. Useful for procurement planning and identifying high-value items that need tighter control.

Waste analysis β€” all wastage records with cost, reason, and department attribution.

Reorder forecast β€” items approaching stockout with recommended order dates and quantities.

Exporting reports

All consumer reports can be exported as PDF or CSV. PDF is formatted for sharing with management or donors. CSV is useful for further analysis in Excel or your accounting software.

Tip: Run the By department report at the end of every month and share it with department heads. When department heads see their own consumption and cost figures, they manage their usage more carefully β€” without any top-down instruction needed.
