How cost attribution works
Every time you record a stock consumption against a department, AADOPS calculates the cost of those items using their recorded cost price and adds it to that department's running total. Over time, this builds a complete picture of how much each department is spending on supplies β without any manual calculation.
Viewing a department's consumption and cost
- Go to Consumer β Departments
- Click on any department to open its profile
- The summary shows: total items consumed this month, total cost this month, and a consumption history with each record listed by date
Budget tracking
If you set a budget for a department, AADOPS tracks spending against it. The department profile shows a progress bar: how much of the budget has been consumed in the current period. When consumption reaches 80% of the budget, you receive a notification. When it reaches 100%, you receive an alert.
The department consumption report
For a full breakdown across all departments, go to Reports β Consumer report. Select By department. The report shows each department's consumption and cost for the selected period, sortable by cost to see which departments are the heaviest users.
