What projects are for

Projects in AADOPS allow you to track stock consumption and costs against a specific initiative β€” a construction contract, a field programme, a funded project, or a seasonal campaign. Unlike departments (which are permanent organisational units), projects are time-bound activities with a defined start and end.

Examples: an NGO running a food distribution programme in three states tracks all supplies consumed under that programme as a project. A construction company tracks materials consumed on each site as a separate project. A health organisation tracks medicines distributed per immunisation campaign.

Step 1 β€” Go to Projects

Click Consumer β†’ Projects. Click + New project.

Step 2 β€” Enter project details

  • Project name β€” a clear, specific name, e.g. "Borno Food Distribution Q3 2026"
  • Project code β€” a short reference code for reports and attribution
  • Start date and end date β€” the planned duration of the project
  • Project manager β€” the staff member responsible
  • Budget β€” the stock consumption budget allocated to this project
  • Funder or client β€” if this project is funded by a donor or client, record their name here for reporting

Step 3 β€” Save

Click Save project. The project is now available for attribution when recording stock consumption.

Tip: For donor-funded projects, create a project in AADOPS for each grant or funding source. This makes it straightforward to generate a consumption report showing exactly what was used under each funding stream β€” without manually extracting data from multiple records.
