When to use a stock transfer

Use a stock transfer when goods physically move from one of your locations to another β€” restocking a branch from a main warehouse, consolidating slow-moving stock before a sale, or moving raw materials from a depot to a production facility.

Step 1 β€” Go to Stock transfers

Click Inventory β†’ Stock transfers. Click + New transfer.

Step 2 β€” Select source and destination

Select the From location β€” where the stock is coming from. Select the To location β€” where it is going. Both must be locations within your account.

Step 3 β€” Add products

Click Add product and select each item you are transferring. Enter the quantity to move. Add all products in the transfer. AADOPS warns you if you try to transfer more than the available quantity at the source location.

Step 4 β€” Set the transfer date

Enter the date the goods are physically moving. If the transfer happens over multiple days β€” a truck leaves today, arrives tomorrow β€” use the dispatch date.

Step 5 β€” Confirm

Click Confirm transfer. Stock is immediately deducted from the source location and added to the destination. The transfer is logged with the date, user, products, and quantities.

Tip: Record stock transfers on the day the goods move β€” not after they arrive, not before they leave. The transfer record is your paper trail if there is ever a discrepancy between what one location sent and what another received.
