Why verification applications are rejected
The most common reasons for rejection:
- Name mismatch β the name you entered does not exactly match what is on your NIN record or CAC certificate. Even a small difference β a missing middle name, an abbreviated name β can cause a rejection.
- Incorrect NIN or CAC number β a digit entered incorrectly.
- Expired or invalidated document β the NIN or CAC record is not active in the government database.
- Low-quality selfie β for KYC, the facial photograph was too dark, blurry, or the face was partially obscured.
- CAC business type mismatch β you selected RC (registered company) but your number is a BN (business name), or vice versa.
How to find out why you were rejected
The rejection email from AADOPS includes the specific reason for the rejection. Read it carefully before resubmitting.
How to resubmit
- Go to your account menu β Verification
- Your current status shows as Rejected with the reason displayed
- Click Resubmit application
- Correct the specific issue that caused the rejection
- Submit again
Tips for a successful resubmission
- For name mismatches, copy the name exactly as it appears on your NIN slip or CAC certificate β do not abbreviate or rearrange
- For selfies, take the photo in good natural light, face directly at the camera, and remove glasses or hats
- For CAC, double-check your business type: RC is for limited liability companies, BN is for business names, IT is for incorporated trustees
Tip: If you have been rejected twice for the same reason, contact support@aadops.com before trying again. A third failed attempt may trigger a cooling-off period on your account.
