When to receive finished goods

Receive finished goods into stock when your production run is complete β€” quality checks have passed and the goods are ready to be sold or stored. This is the step that closes the production order and adds the finished product to your sellable inventory.

Step 1 β€” Open the production order

Go to Producer β†’ Production orders. Open the completed order.

Step 2 β€” Click Receive finished goods

Click Receive finished goods.

Step 3 β€” Enter the actual quantity produced

Enter the actual number of finished units produced. This may differ from the planned quantity β€” due to quality rejections, production losses, or a decision to stop early. Enter what was actually produced, not what was planned.

Step 4 β€” Select the destination warehouse

Choose which warehouse or store location the finished goods are going into.

Step 5 β€” Confirm

Click Confirm receipt. AADOPS:

  • Adds the finished goods quantity to the selected warehouse inventory
  • Calculates the actual raw material consumption based on the quantity produced
  • Returns any unused allocated materials to available inventory
  • Calculates the production cost for this run
  • Closes the production order with status Completed
Note: Once a production order is closed, it cannot be reopened. If you discover a data entry error after closing, contact AADOPS support. A stock adjustment can correct the finished goods quantity, but the production cost calculation will reflect the original entry.
