What work in progress means
Work in progress (WIP) is stock that has left your raw material inventory but has not yet become finished goods. Recording WIP in AADOPS gives you a real-time view of where your production runs are and helps you identify bottlenecks β stages where production consistently slows or stalls.
Production order stages
A production order in AADOPS moves through these stages:
- Confirmed β materials allocated, production not yet started
- In progress β production has started, materials being consumed
- Quality check β production complete, awaiting quality inspection
- Completed β finished goods received into inventory
How to update the production stage
- Open the production order from Producer β Production orders
- Click Update status
- Select the current stage
- Add a note if needed β e.g. "Line 2 running at 80% capacity", "Waiting for packaging materials"
- Click Save
Recording partial completion
If your production run is completed in batches β for example, you produce 500 units today and will produce the remaining 500 tomorrow β you can record partial completion. Enter the quantity produced so far. AADOPS calculates the proportional material consumption and updates your WIP balance.
