What the sales report covers

The sales and revenue report gives you a complete view of every sale made in your business over a selected period. It shows total revenue, number of transactions, average transaction value, best-selling products, and sales by staff member β€” everything you need to understand how your business is performing at the counter.

How to access it

Go to Reports β†’ Sales report. Select your date range β€” today, this week, this month, last month, or a custom range. Select the warehouse location if you want to see one location only, or leave it set to All locations.

Key metrics

Total revenue β€” the gross value of all sales in the period, before discounts.

Net revenue β€” revenue after all discounts applied.

Number of transactions β€” how many sales were completed.

Average transaction value β€” net revenue divided by number of transactions. A rising average transaction value means customers are buying more per visit.

Best-selling products β€” ranked by quantity sold and by revenue generated. These are not always the same product.

Sales by staff member β€” total revenue processed by each cashier or manager. Useful for understanding productivity and identifying training needs.

Payment method breakdown β€” how much was paid by cash, transfer, card, and split payment.

Sales trends

The report includes a daily or weekly chart showing revenue over the selected period. Use this to spot your busy days, identify seasonal patterns, and plan staffing and stock levels accordingly.

Tip: Compare this month's revenue to the same month last year. A growing business should show consistent year-on-year improvement. If revenue is flat despite more transactions, your average transaction value may be falling β€” which points to discounting, product mix changes, or a shift toward lower-value items.
