What stock valuation is
Stock valuation is the total monetary value of all the goods you currently hold in inventory. It tells you how much capital is tied up in your stock at any given moment β an important number for understanding your business's financial health and for making purchasing decisions.
How AADOPS calculates stock value
AADOPS uses the cost price you entered for each product to calculate stock value. The formula is simple: quantity on hand multiplied by cost price equals stock value for that product. Your total inventory value is the sum across all products and all locations.
This is why it is important to keep your cost prices accurate and up to date. An outdated cost price gives you a misleading picture of how much your stock is worth.
