Two ways to add a product

AADOPS gives you two routes to add a product: the Product Wizard (a guided 4-step flow recommended for most users, especially on mobile) and the full product form (for complete control over every field). Both create the same product.

Using the Product Wizard β€” recommended, especially on mobile

Go to Inventory β†’ Products. Tap or click + Add product β†’ Use wizard.

On mobile, tap ☰ first to open the sidebar menu, then tap Inventory.

The wizard breaks product creation into four focused steps β€” one screen at a time. On mobile, each step fits comfortably without horizontal scrolling.

Step 1 β€” What is it?
Enter the product name. Select the product type: Single product (one price, one version) or Variable product (different sizes, colours, or grades). Tap Next.

Step 2 β€” Pricing & Stock
Enter the selling price, cost price, opening stock quantity, and the warehouse this stock belongs to. On mobile, these fields appear stacked one below the other β€” scroll down to reach all four. Tap Next.

Step 3 β€” Classify
Select the category, brand, unit of measurement, and SKU code. All fields are pre-filled with smart defaults β€” change only what you need to. Tap Next.

Step 4 β€” Review & Save
Review everything and tap Save product. Your product is created immediately.

Using the full product form

Go to Inventory β†’ Products β†’ + Add product. The full form gives you access to every field. On mobile, all fields stack vertically β€” scroll through the entire form to fill in each section. Key fields:

  • Product name β€” the name your staff and customers see
  • Product code / SKU β€” auto-generated if left blank
  • Category and Brand β€” tap the dropdown to select or create inline
  • Product unit, Sale unit, Purchase unit β€” unit of measurement for each context
  • Product type β€” Single or Variable
  • Expiry date β€” tap to open the date picker (native mobile date picker on phones)
  • Product cost β€” what you paid. Used in profit calculations.
  • Product price β€” your selling price
  • Stock alert β€” low stock notification threshold
  • Opening stock quantity β€” how many units you currently have
  • Warehouse β€” which location this stock is assigned to

Scroll to the bottom and tap Save.

Tip: On mobile, use the wizard for your first products. It is faster, easier to follow on a small screen, and covers the essential fields. Use the full form later when you need to set advanced options like tax type, multiple units, or product images.
